JP provides a great road map for how to navigate adulthood. Even in my mid-30s, Welcome to Adulting gives great insights and a strong reminder that this life is temporary. As Christians we have eternal passports to heaven; we are simply living here on a visa. Regardless of your stage of life, there are many nuggets of wisdom.

When I first came across this book, I couldn't believe it. Chickie's hair-brained scheme to enter Vietnam... during the war... as a civilian, just doesn't computer. Much less his dream to deliver a little hope and a few beers along the way. The Greatest Beer Run Ever is a wildly entertaining, feel-good memoir by an Irish American New Yorker and former U.S. marine.

I literally couldn't stop saying, "What? No way!" throughout this book. A behind-the-scenes look at one expat's life in a Bolivian prison. It will shock you. It will enrage you. It will keep you turning the page until the absolute end. Learn more about Bolivia’s infamous prison in a book now banned in the country- Marching Powder: A True Story of Friendship, Cocaine, and South America's Strangest Jail.

Exploring an often neglected, yet central truth about Jesus. Gentle and Lowly explores Jesus’s deep love for His messy, sinful people. This book draws us to Matthew 11, where Jesus describes himself as "gentle and lowly in heart," longing for his people to find rest in him. Dive deep into Bible passages that will comfort and sustain readers through life's challenges.

A candid and inspiring memoir from Olympic gold medalist, world champion, and the most decorated US female Olympian in history: Katie Ledecky. Seeing Ledecky's discipline and drive makes you really understand the great divide between elite athletes and, well, the rest of us. She provides sweet family insights and the support system around her. Even if you aren’t a swimmer, Just Add Water inspires.

This book spoke to my soul. Having embarked on my own year of travel, this book captured so many of my thoughts and feelings through the last year. While not traveling with a husband and 3 kids in tow, At Home in the World reminded me that having a family doesn’t mean the end to wanderlust. And it is possible to continue seeing the world while raising a family.

After decades of secrecy, the true stories of 10,000 women who fought in their own ways during America's time of need. Even if you don’t care about the brand, this journey of entrepreneurs, friendship and self-discovery is relatable for everyone. The co-founder of Nike, Phil Knight, is quite the storyteller and provides wisdom for everyone. I really appreciated the vulnerability from one of the most successful CEOs in the world in Shoe Dog.

I just can't seem to get enough about the most secretive country on earth - North Korea. Nothing to Envy follows the lives of six North Koreans over fifteen years—a chaotic period that saw the death of Kim Il-sung, the unchallenged rise to power of his son Kim Jong-il, and the devastation of a far-ranging famine that killed one-fifth of the population. Through meticulous and sensitive reporting, we see average North Korean citizens fall in love, raise families, nurture ambitions, and struggle for survival.

About the Author

Hi, I’m Jordan. I’m originally from Destin, Florida, but have lived in Nashville, TN for 10 years. I started this blog in 2022 when I left my career in finance to take an adult gap year… yep, that’s right at 35 years old! Since then I have traveled to 65+ countries, most of the time solo. I lived in China for 4 years and have backpacked around the world. I like to stretch my budget for things like good meals and scuba diving, but ultimately the local experience is what drives me to explore. I love meeting new people and learning about other cultures, traditions and life lessons. Thanks for being here!
